Sense of place:

I’m a bystander, content to walk behind the curtain, but ready to take the stage and be a leader if the occasion calls for it. I'd much rather be a director than an actor. I’m a listener, hung on words, a memory for conversations. I’m a writer, not a speaker. I listen for the still, small voice. I wait for motivation.

I love the sound of a heartbeat. I close my eyes to feel the sun on my face. I breathe slowly. Walk like I know where I’m going. I have loved. I have won and lost. I have watched the old become nothing but memories. I have cherished. I have fought. I have given in to those around me, but never lost sight of myself. I have family. I have friends. And I have them to thank for all the encouragement I have received in my writing. I try not to write for myself, but rather that one person who will read it and feel for a brief moment. Feel something that I, too, have felt at times. Life can be beautiful. Love can conquer all. And no words of mine can ever do life or love justice. But I keep trying.
